Kennel Assistant/Technician Assistant Jo

We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed person who can correctly fulfill job duties without direct supervision, to join our team. Previous experience in the veterinary field is preferred, but not required.

This is a part-time entry level position working with patients, cleaning and sterilizing surgical instruments, and ensuring an impeccable level of cleanliness in all areas of the practice. Opportunity for new challenges and growth are available. **Morning and daytime hours are required**

YOU WILL BE HELD ACCOUNTABLE FOR:

Providing a clean, efficient and healthy environment for the animals being treated or boarded at the hospital

Ensuring the safety, comfort and health of all animals in the hospital

Ensuring fully stocked exam and treatment areas

The cleanliness of the clinic, including kennel area, runs, treatment area, grooming area and outside grounds.

Feeding hospitalized animals and boarders.

Recording or reporting important information about the animals’ condition, behavior and habits (elimination, eating, etc.).

Calling unusual problems to the attention of the Doctor or a Technician.

Prepare the animals to be dismissed and take them to the reception area for dismissal.

Laundry upkeep and keeping the laundry area neat and clean

Assisting the Doctor and Technicians with restraint and treatment of animals.

Maintaining the kennel inventory (food, cleaning supplies, laundry supplies, etc.).

Performing other duties as assigned that assist the Doctor, Receptionist and Technician in the smooth flow and operation of the clinic, care of clients and service to the clients.

Compensation

$8-$12/hour

Benefits include contributions toward health insurance premiums, veterinary care discounts, paid time off, company retirement contributions and monthly bonuses. *Some benefits only available to full-time employees per company policy.
